| Details: | Weekend Sports This term, we will be offering weekend sports in our Junior School gym starting on Saturday, September 26th, 2020. On Saturdays, the students will be learning and playing soccer. On Sundays, our coaching staff – Chris Horwood and Jayme Forrest will be leading our Fundamentals of Sport programme. To help us plan for the number of students attending, please send me an email indicating your intention to have your child join these programmes – gary.barber@smus.ca. Students will need to arrive at their designated time and wait outside the front entrance of the school. The coaches will then gather the students, have them sanitize their hands, then take them into the gym. Regrettably, parents will not be allowed into the school to watch the practice. At the end of each practice, the students will sanitise their hands then be escorted out of the building and leave with their family member. Please do not socialise on the lawn as we need to avoid the risks of mixing children in different cohorts. There is a 15 minute transition between each cohort to ensure that groups do not mix. The students should wear their SMUS gym strip and bring their own water bottle. Students in Kindergarten may wear play clothes. We will offer practices on the following weekends: September 26th, 27th, October 3rd, 4th, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th, 31st, November 1st, 7th, 8th, 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th. The timing for these practices will be as follows: Kg – 9 – 9:45 a.m. Grade 1 – 10 – 10:45 a.m. Grade 2 – 11 – 11:45 a.m. Grade 3 – 12 – 12:45 p.m. Grade 4 – 1 – 1:45 p.m. Grade 5 – 2 – 2:45 p.m. We are excited to be able to offer these programmes to your children and look forward to working with them this term.
