| Details: | STeP Conferences – March 12 Students will be joining parents at the March 12 STeP Conferences (student, teacher, parent) for their homeroom class as well as specialist classes. STeP conferences are an excellent opportunity for parents to receive information and evidence on student learning at this point in the year. Our goal is to ensure that parents have a clear understanding of where their child is in their learning progression and ways that can be supported. Please note that there are no classes in session on March 12 to allow the full school to be used for core teacher and specialist teacher interviews. Parents can sign up for an interview slot with their child’s homeroom teacher and the specialist teachers in the parent portal which closes on March 10 by 3:00 pm. Core teachers are available to meet for 15 minute intervals and specialist teachers will have 5 minute slots available. If you have more than one child in the Junior School, parents will need to click on each child separately in the Parent Portal. Parents are encouraged to include a ‘buffer’ between interviews. The Imagination Lab will be available for parents and children to drop in and speak with the teachers. Lindsey Ashton, Digital Skills Teacher Gr 3-5, and Alison Galloway, Imagination Lab Coordinator will available to answer parent questions. Ms. Ashton is available between 8:30 – 4:30 pm and Ms. Galloway is available 10:30 – 6:30 pm in the Imagination Lab. Becky Anderson (Director), Kathleen Cook (Assistant Director), Tessa Lloyd (Counsellor), Margaret Lincoln (Program Specialist) will be available throughout the day. STeP Conference Camp – March 12 Our After School Care team have organized a day camp. Drop off and pick up is at the Junior School while the day program from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm will be based out of Brown Hall on the Richmond Road Campus. This camp will be limited to 20 students and is almost at capacity, so email Alia (Alia.Shihadeh@smus.ca) if you need child care that day. Thanks, The Juniors School Office |
