Gr. 8 Band at Con Brio Whistler Music Festival

| Details: | Some Grade 8 band students will take part in a music festival that draws young musicians from many schools in the province. They will perform for several knowledgeable band teachers who will adjudicate and coach them towards developing skills on chosen repertoire. An opportunity will be provided for this ensemble to rehearse with other students within a large band setting. They will also attend a concert presented by professional level musicians and take part in some social activities. Students should arrive at school as usual on Thursday April 19th (there is a jazz band rehearsal that morning) and after a morning meeting and rehearsal, we will take a SMUS bus to catch the 11am Ferry to Tsawassen. We will be staying in the Delta Hotel in Whistler Village. The schedule includes numerous festival activities including one or two performances or workshops per day, but also enough time to enjoy Whistler Village and some outdoor activities in the area.
