Details: | On Wednesday, February 20th, the entire Grade 7 group of students will travel in school buses for a ski/snowboard day at Mt. Washington. There is no experience necessary and there is no cost to families (you may send money for food, or send a hearty lunch and snacks). The purposes of this trip are many, including skill development, building resilience, team-building, strengthening current friendships and initiating new ones, as well as appreciating the natural beauty and resources of our island's backyard. Note: Lessons are recommended for inexperienced students and parents may opt out if they are confident about their child's level. Students will all start out with an adult chaperone and may graduate to an unchaperoned group if they demonstrate maturity and safe conduct. There is no fee for this school activity, and any equipment rentals are paid for by the school. Students will need to pack a lunch as well as bring a packed dinner OR bring $10-20 for food when we stop in Ladysmith or Nanaimo on the return leg later that day. The trip leaves from 3410 Shelbourne Street, at the corner of Shelbourne and Derby at 5:15 am on Wednesday, February 20th and returns to our Derby location by approximately 7:00 pm later that day. |
